Found in Australia, its discovery was important because it showed that sauropods lived in Gondwanalandduring the early Jurassic period. Rhoetosaurus was a cetiosaurid, a group characterized by box-shaped heads and forelimbs and hindlimbsof equal length. Rhoetosaurus' legs were unusually stocky.
